Life Legacy

William ‘Bill’ Wiliams, age 73, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away Monday, February 18, 2013. Bill was born July 26, 1939 in Bedford, Pennsylvania. He was raised by his parents in Pennsylvania and upon graduating from high school entered into the United States Army. Bill served as a Medical Corpsman with the United States Army while stationed in Germany (1958-1961) earning his Parachutist’s Badge before receiving an Honorable discharge. He was a member of the V.F.W. Schellsburg, PA and the American Legion. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Bill treasured his family and friends enjoying his time with them when opportunity availed itself. Bill was an avid John Wayne enthusiast and enjoyed talking to anyone about his ‘hero’. He was a dedicated, long-distance truck driver for several companies. The Anderson Trucking/Lone Star Management was his latest employer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kathryn Urice and his adopted parents Donald & Margeret Williams of Pennsylvania; a sister, Dorthy Ann; a daughter, Candy Williams-Young; and a grand-daughter, Jessica Connor.

He is survived by his wife of almost 25 years, Starr Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Margaret ‘Peg’ Beegle and husband, Eric of Clearville, Pennsylvania; son, Steven Hilton and wife, Angie of Bedford, Pennsylvania; and step-children, Kristie Watkins and husband, David of Simms, Texas, and Kenneth Peek and wife, Kim of Texarkana, Texas; two sisters, Beverly Brown of Fishertown, Pennsylvania and Alice Urice of Colorado; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a host of other family members and lots of friends who were as close as family.

Honorary Pall bearers: Tom Harwell, Larry Treat, Dwayne Pebworth, Shawn Treat, Scott Frazier, Ray Daugherty and Jack Smith. Military Honors will be presented by SGM Terry New Jr. and SGT Tyler Casey of the U.S. Army.

Memorial Service to be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Add’Vantage Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel at 9761 East 31st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Reverend Walt Copenhaver will be presiding over the services. Interment to be decided upon at a later date by the family.
